Woman Accused of Rihanna House Shooting Could Lose Job License — Report

The criminal case of the shooting at Rihanna’s Los Angeles home has started to touch more than the courtroom. A new report says Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, the woman accused of opening fire at the singer’s property, now faces the risk of losing her ability to work in her profession if she gets out of custody.

Ortiz reportedly holds a state license to practice speech-language pathology. Now, a member of the licensing board in that field wants her blocked from working as a speech-language pathologist if she leaves law enforcement custody.

TMZ exclusively reported that California prosecutors filed new legal documents against Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, the woman charged with shooting at Rihanna’s home. The 35-year-old reportedly received her license in April 2016, and it remains valid until June 2027.

However, a licensing board member reportedly wants any release conditions, including bail or release on her own recognizance, to stop Ortiz from working with the public in her professional role. According to the outlet, the woman is due in court for arraignment on Wednesday morning.

Prosecutors are reportedly pursuing major charges related to the March 8 shooting at Rihanna’s home in the Beverly Glen area. In that, authorities maintained that a suspect drove up to the residence in a white Tesla and fired roughly 10 rounds from an AR-15-style semiautomatic rifle. Though no one suffered injuries, several rounds allegedly hit the outside of the businesswoman’s home, along with a parked vehicle.

At the time, Rihanna was inside the house along with her partner A$AP Rocky, their three children, her mother, and staff members, and prosecutors eventually charged Ortiz with one count of attempted murder, 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling.

Additionally, bail was set at $1.875 million, and Ortiz could face life in prison if a jury convicts her on all counts.
