Earlier this month, production was “paused” on Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5 after news dropped of an open domestic assault investigation involving Taylor Frankie Paul and her baby daddy Dakota Mortensen.
Amid the ongoing domestic assault investigation, Whitney Leavitt has some feelings to share about the importance of child safety.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star broke her silence
Yesterday, Whitney broke her silence with Interview Magazine after being asked how she was feeling amid all the headlines. “I’m still processing everything,” she said, “but the safety of human beings, especially children, comes first.”
“Always, period, the end,” the SLOMW star added emphatically. “I don’t want that to be tolerated. I don’t want that to be overlooked. It’s just so fresh. That’s all I have to say about that.”
Meanwhile, Whitney wasn’t the only SLOMW cast member to speak out in the wake of developments. On March 20, Layla Taylor shared a statement on her Instagram Stories. “My personal history as a survivor makes it impossible for me to stay silent,” she wrote. “I stand firmly against domestic violence in any form.”
Previously charged with domestic violence in 2023, Taylor was still on probation, which was scheduled to end in August 2026. The 2023 indictment alleged that Taylor threw “heavy, metal chairs” at Dakota. Allegedly, Taylor’s young daughter was in the room and was struck in the head by one of the chairs. At the time, Taylor pled guilty to the aggravated assault, while the other charges were dismissed.
After TMZ released Dakota’s video of the incident, ABC cancelled The Bachelorette Season 22, which was set to premiere March 22 starring Taylor.
