Theories around Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance are coming in fast and furious. Despite there being apparently thousands of leads since the 84-year-old went missing evidence appears to be in short supply.
The mother of the famed Today Show co-host Savannah Guthrie has not been seen or heard from since January 31. What was supposedly discovered in Nancy’s home doesn’t appear to give investigators a lot to work with. That has a true crime reporter questioning whether she was kidnapped.
Nancy Guthrie’s house is reportedly explaining nothing about her suspected abduction
For months we’ve been led to believe Nancy had been kidnapped from her home in Tucson, Arizona. That longstanding theory though is not one Ashleigh Banfield is buying into. On her Drop Dead Serious podcast, the crime reporter discussed how investigators found next to nothing inside Nancy’s home. The blood pattern in the front hall of Nancy’s home, a man viewed on her doorbell camera and that camera being taken are among the reasons police believe a kidnapping took place. For Ashleigh, however, that may not be the case.
Ashleigh admits that Savannah’s candid interview recently has her a little baffled. Among the things the host talks about are back doors at her mom’s place reportedly being propped open. She says that “We’re unclear what Savannah means,” by that statement. Ashleigh said she did wonder if Nancy’s home looked less bizarre when they first arrived.
Not long after Nancy was reported missing Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said he was convinced she’d been taken. The fact that there had previously been ransom notes sent to news outlets seems to back that claim.
For Ashleigh without the blood and the alleged suspect on camera in a mask, one might have though Nancy just vanished out of the blue. Ashleigh says it must be extremely frustrating from the family’s perspective.
