Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, took a jab at JD Vance after he announced his new memoir on social media. In the post, Vance reflected on the timeline of his memoir and what the story is about.
Gavin Newsom takes a jibe at JD Vance
JD Vance took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce his upcoming memoir named Communion. He revealed that he has been penning the memoir for “a long time” and is now prepared to share his story.
“Communion is about my personal journey and how I found my way back to faith,” he added, referring to what the memoir is about. He mentioned that the book will be publicly accessible in June 2026. However, it can be pre-ordered from the link he provided.
Resharing Vance’s post, Newsom wrote, “What would Jesus say about bombing a school?” This appeared to be a direct reference to the February 28 incident, where a girls’ school named Shajareh Tayyebeh in southern Iran was destroyed. It was reported that the strike killed at least 170 people, among whom most were children.
This is not the first time Newsom has mocked Vance publicly, as he previously reposted a clip from an Oval Office press conference. In the video, Donald Trump addressed the reports around JD Vance being involved in negotiations with Iran.
Trump said, “Well, he’s involved them. JD is involved and [Secretary of State Marco Rubio is] involved and [my son-in-law] Jared Kushner’s involved, very smart guy, and [U.S. special envoy to the Middle East] Steve Witkoff, smart guy, is involved. And I’m involved!” Newsom reposted the clip, along with a meme. It showed a young man trying to stop a train that was already about to halt at the station. He wrote, “Live look at JD in the Situation Room.”
