Pope Leo Responds After Donald Trump Attack: ‘I Have No Fear…’

He may be opposed to the Iran war, but Pope Leo has found himself in another war. The war of words between the pontiff and Donald Trump seems to be getting ugly, with the latter blasting the Pope online.

On his Truth Social, the President accused Leo of being weak on crime, in a bizarre rant.

The Pope responded to Donald saying, “I have no fear of the Trump administration or speaking out loudly of the message of the Gospel.” He was en route to Algeria when making the comments.

Pope Leo spoke of the Church and politicians

It appears the Pope has become an enemy of the President. Leo said that he doesn’t want to get into a debate with Donald, but his past opposition to him over his actions in Iran seems to have made that inevitable. Before taking off to Africa, Leo said the church doesn’t “deal with foreign policy with the same perspective he (Donald) might understand it.” He adds that he believes in “the message of the Gospel, as a peacemaker.”

Since the outset of the Iranian attacks, the Pope has been vocal about his opposition to the matter. The Chicago-born preacher demanded a ceasefire in that conflict in March. That was among the Vatican’s strongest appeals. In the past, the Pope has called Donald’s call to destroy Iranian civilization “unacceptable.”

Generally, it is rare for a Pope to speak publicly about statements made by world leaders. The President, though, has been bashing him mercilessly online. On Sunday, he called for him to get his act together. He also felt Leo was weak on nuclear weapons. Meanwhile, Donald suggested that his being President and Leo being American was why the latter became Pope.

The Pope believes too many innocent people are dying around the world for no reason. He believes there’s a better way to stop the violence than the President’s approach.

TELL US – SHOULD POPE LEO SIMPLY IGNORE THE PRESIDENT’S CRITICISMS?
