Anne Hathaway’s Versace Micro Minidress Gives LBD a Vintage Twist

Anne Hathaway is at the top of her fashion game, and her latest iconic moment had her dressed in a Versace micro minidress with a vintage LBD twist. Fresh off “The Devil Wears Prada 2” press tour, the Oscar winner is now busy promoting her upcoming A24 movie, “Mother Mary.” She has delivered plenty of black looks already, but the new one is exceptionally interesting.

Anne Hathaway gives LBD a vintage spin with Versace micro minidress for ‘Mother Mary’

The Versace LBD Anne Hathaway was spotted wearing in NYC on April 15, is from the House’s Fall/Winter 1991 collection. Listed as a Black velvet and wool cocktail dress with jewelry button on 1stDibs, the vintage piece features a plunging sweetheart neckline. The velvet sleeves and upper bodice create a rich contrast against the smoother fabric of the skirt. A velvet trim lines the hem, while the cuffs are finished with the same sleek fabric. The contrast between the two fabrics added a polished balance to the design.

A vertical row of oversized, ornate gold buttons runs down the center. These buttons give the dress a bold, gilded touch that anchors the vintage aesthetic. The dress cinches at the waist before flaring slightly at the hips. Further, intricate swirl embroidery sits just above the pockets.

Hathaway turned the archival piece into a street-style moment by styling it with sheer black tights, which created a seamless line down to her footwear. Adding to the drama of the outfit, she opted for the Versace Aevitas platform pump. The shoes feature a towering block heel and a multi-strap ankle design decorated with delicate gold hardware. She wore these same shoes to the “Mother Mary” premiere after-party.

The “Princess Diaries” star’s accessories included the Bulgari Tuboga necklace and earrings. She also sported the ruby and diamond Serpenti ring, among other jewelry pieces. She completed her look with the KHAITE x Oliver Peoples 1974C sunglasses in Black and Grey.
