Joe Rogan Backs Spencer Pratt for LA Mayor

Spencer Pratt’s campaign for mayor of Los Angeles may have gotten another boost. The reality star recently appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast to discuss his new memoir. The Guy You Loved to Hate came out in late January.

Spencer also discussed his campaign to replace Karen Bass as LA mayor. Spencer is a Republican, though the municipal race is officially nonpartisan. Joe is known for his many outspoken political views and seems to like what Spencer brings to the table.

The controversial podcaster is “rooting for” the reality TV star

A pair of reality stars are sticking together. On Wednesday’s episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the former Fear Factor host put his support behind the crystal collector’s campaign. “I’m rooting for you,” Joe declared to Spencer. He added that if he lived in LA, “I would vote for you.” Joe left California for Texas in 2020. As such, he can’t vote for him in this year’s election.

According to Spencer, the “system in Los Angeles isn’t struggling, it’s fundamentally broken.” The fires in California sparked widespread outrage over how the government handled them. Spencer says that his bid for mayor isn’t just a campaign but “a mission, and we’re gonna expose the system.”

While he has no prior political experience, it appears that Spencer has a decent shot at getting elected. A March poll suggested that he was the biggest challenger to Karen’s re-election bid. He announced his candidacy on the first anniversary of the Palisades Fire. There were 12 people who died from that, with over 6,800 homes and businesses damaged.

Spencer admits that he never wanted to run for mayor in the first place. It was only after spending a year uncovering how his and his parents’ house burned down that he felt there was a cover-up and negligence occurring. Joe previously endorsed Donald Trump’s successful 2024 Presidential election campaign, which he now regrets. The mayoral election will take place on June 2.
