Shortly after the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, called herself the “most trolled person in the world,” Ted Cruz responded, saying it was not true and that he believed US President Donald Trump was the most trolled person in the world.
Ted Cruz comments on Donald Trump in new interview
Not long ago, Meghan Markle faced a wave of backlash during her red-carpet appearance as an Alliance for Children’s Rights Champion. There, she called herself the “most trolled person in the world.” But Ted Cruz had a different take (via TMZ).
While speaking to a reporter, Cruz addressed Markle’s viral claims, saying the former actress’s statement is incorrect because President Donald Trump was the most trolled person in the world. “I’d probably say it’s Donald Trump.”
When asked what he thought about the intense trolling that the President faces, Cruz said, “Like most trolling in life, some is fair, and some is unfair. When it’s funny, I laugh!” He went on to compliment Meghan Markle for her performance in Suits, calling her “awesome” on the show.
This ordeal came shortly after Meghan Markle made headlines for claiming she was “bullied and attacked.” While speaking to kids at Swinburne University of Technology in Australia, the Duchess of Sussex said (via OKMagazine), “For now, 10 years, every day for 10 years, I have been bullied and attacked. And I was the most trolled person in the entire world.”
She continued, “Now, I’m still here. And when I think of all of you and what you’re experiencing, I think so much of that is having to realize that you know that industry, that billion-dollar industry, that is completely anchored and predicated on cruelty to get clicks — that’s not going to change. So you have to be stronger than that.”
