Meghan Markle’s New Mother’s Day Launch Sparks Fresh Royal Debate After Australia Return

Wake up babe, Meghan Markle has announced another drop from her As Ever brand. The Mother’s Day collection features candles “inspired by” children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. After all, who wants houseware reminding them of their own kids? Those little peasants.

Meghan and Prince Harry may have famously exited the royal family in 2020, but it seems they’re not above flashing their kids’ titles.

In a Mother’s Day-themed collection launching April 22 (May 10 in the US), Meghan’s As Ever brand is offering the chance to snap up candles with a personal touch.

In press materials, the candles use the children’s royal titles. For example, the Signature Candle No. 506 is described as having a “warm, comforting scent inspired by Prince Archie of Sussex’s birthdate.” It has notes of neroli, cashmere and ginger – probably a nod to his red hair. “This candle is inspired by Meghan’s son, Prince Archie,” the official release adds, per People.

Meanwhile, the Signature Candle No. 604 has “a light, floral scent inspired by Princess Lilibet of Sussex’s birthdate, adding a sense of brightness and openness to the home.”

The children were given the titles of prince and princess by King Charles when he ascended the throne in 2022. They were previously referred to as master and miss. How lowly.

The As Ever brand previously sold things like jams, teas, flower sprinkles and tea sprinkles, with product descriptions (and prices) seemingly from the Goop school of marketing.

Meghan and Harry have just returned from a whirlwind trip to Australia. The four-day visit saw them undertake a number of engagements centered on mental health and support for veterans. They are reportedly planning a return to the UK later this year – though not everyone is pleased about that, apparently.
