Donald Trump Faces Disapproval From Gen Z Voters in New Poll

A new poll suggests that many Gen Z voters are unhappy with Donald Trump, which is impacting his approval ratings. In the past few months, Trump’s approval ratings have gone down, likely due to many reasons, like public opinion on ICE, the war between Iran and the United States, and rising oil prices.

Donald Trump’s approval rating drops amongst youth

According to a new NBC News Decision Desk poll, Donald Trump is currently struggling with Gen Z voters, resulting in a drop in his approval ratings.

NBC conducted the poll between March 30 and April 13, with over 32,000 respondents aged 18, and more than 3,000 participants ranging from ages 18 to 29. The results suggest that only 20 percent strongly approve of Trump’s handling of his role as President, whereas 17 percent somewhat approve. On the other hand, a whopping 50 percent of respondents are dissatisfied with the way Trump handles his role as President, whereas 13 percent somewhat disapprove.

Moreover, when asked about their opinions on Trump’s handling of the war between the United States and Iran, 19 percent of respondents strongly approved of his approach, and 14 percent somewhat approved. However, 54 percent of the participants were unhappy with his approach, whereas 13 percent somewhat disapproved.

Trump’s approval ratings have been taking a hit continuously for the past few months following his handling of the situation in Iran and his remarks about Greenland. Recently, a CNN analyst spoke about Trump’s ratings and predicted that the Democrats will soon have the upper hand in the Senate. He said, “Democrats haven’t just gained on Republicans, they actually have the majority chance at 54 percent, and that’s fairly close to a toss-up. It’s bad. It’s like a nightmare for the Republicans. The Democrats just keep gaining and gaining and gaining when it comes to the Senate odds.”
