According to Radar, the elder Justin’s motives may be to rehabilitate his reputation after running into legal troubles.

Justin’s throwback clip with the teenage Baby singer was posted next to the younger Justin singing the Justin T. song, “Cry Me a River” at the second Coachella weekend. During his performance, the Canadian singer said, “I grew up listening to Justin Timberlake and so many other beautiful talents, but I remember this like it was yesterday.”

The event’s set paid homage to Justin B.’s past performances, including songs before he became famous.

One Radar source says the connection is portrayed as nostalgic, showing both singers “coming full circle.” However, they claim the timing is suspect, adding that it’s “happening at a moment when both of them have something to prove, which is why people are reading more into it.”

Those in the industry speculate that the “Love Sex Magic” singer may be hinting at a forthcoming duet by the men. The highly promoted partnership would be beneficial for both artists. “For Justin Timberlake, it offers a way to reframe the conversation around his career, while for Bieber it could mark a powerful return to the spotlight,” said the insider.

Another source noted, “It feels like a calculated alignment – bringing together two global names at pivotal moments in their careers. A collaboration would generate huge attention and could help shift focus away from recent setbacks, particularly for Timberlake.”

The elder Justin’s June 2024 drunk driving arrest was widely publicized. He accepted a plea deal three months later, pleading guilty to a non-criminal traffic violation of driving while impaired.
