Donald Trump talks about Melania after shooting incident
During a press conference, Donald Trump revealed that Melania Trump immediately knew what happened and sensed the bad noise. This happened when the alleged shooter, now identified as Cole Tomas Allen, fired shots at the main security screening hall.
The Secret Service agents stepped in to rescue them as they immediately rushed out the president, his wife, Vice President JD Vance, and members of the Cabinet from the venue. In the rescue process, a Secret Service agent was shot in his bulletproof vest, with no injuries reported.
He said, “Melania was cognizant. It was a rather traumatic experience for her.” Trump also revealed that the first lady has always known the dangers and safety issues that come with the presidential seat while sharing a few words in her praise. “The first lady was doing a terrific job. She loves the country. She recognizes it better than any. But she told me numerous times, she said, ‘You are in a dangerous job” (via PEOPLE).
Trump later took to Truth Social to address the WHCD shooting incident and praised the agents for their job of protecting the attendees. He wrote, “Quite an evening in D.C. Secret Service and Law Enforcement did a fantastic job. They acted quickly and bravely. The shooter has been apprehended, and I have recommended that we ‘LET THE SHOW GO ON’ but, will entirely be guided by Law Enforcement. They will make a decision shortly.” He suggested that whatever the decision might be, the evening will be “different” than what’s planned and will require doing it again.
