Last Friday, one of the Below Deck transport vessels caught fire in Mo’orea, an island located in the South Pacific Ocean. This incident is allegedly linked to the next season of Below Deck Down Under, which is currently filming in French Polynesia. Thankfully, all crew and production members are safe and accounted for. And speaking of the crew, several Below Deck stars, both past and present, have already chimed in.
A tender went up in flames on the ocean
TMZ recently shared footage of this scary day at sea. In their video, we can clearly see a tender engulfed in flames in the middle of the ocean. To date, the cause of this fire remains unknown, the outlet further noted in their written report.
Meanwhile, three weeks ago, Radio 1 Tahiti reported on the BDDU series. As they noted, filming for the next season of BDDU was underway in this same area. As a result, Captain Jason Chambers might have a rough season ahead next year, if this report is accurate.
On TMZ’s Instagram coverage of this incident, several Below Deck stars have already weighed in. “If they put that in the storyline, it might actually bring the show back,” Nico Scholly wrote. Yikes, Nico.
Meanwhile, several soapy egg jokes were also in the comments, referencing a current storyline on BDDU. “I knew Ellie [Dubaich] wasn’t going to be disrespected and just let it slide. But this is a bit over the top,” one of these fans gagged.
Then, Eddy Hounsell weighed in. He tagged Mike Durrant, suggesting, “Somehow, this will be your fault too, just saying.” Mike agreed. “No surprise there, it was all my fault as usual,” Mike laughed.
However, the comment with the most laughs and likes belonged to Kate Chastain. As this OG joked, “I bet someone was making beef cheeks.” But whatever happened, we’re just glad that everyone’s safe.
