Charlize Theron recently opened up about her dating life and revealed what her daughters think of it. The South African actress is currently busy promoting her new survival thriller, “Apex.” She appeared in the latest episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” where she discussed her dating preferences.

While speaking to Drew Barrymore on her talk show, Charlize Theron shared that her kids wholeheartedly support her dating. Shedding light on the unexpected role her daughters play in her dating life, the “Mad Max: Fury Road” star said, “My kids are at an age now where they actually enjoy that I’m dating because they want to be involved. It’s really funny how I was scared they’d be threatened by it, and now they’re like, ‘Mom, is he texting you? Like, go on the date, mom.'”
The enthusiasm and encouragement, however, don’t change Theron’s desire for the dating arrangement with her partner. She explained, “I really mean this—people think I joke—I don’t think I could ever live with somebody again. I would love for you to be close, like buy the house down the street, but I don’t know if I can.”
That said, she is open to her perspective changing over time. “Maybe it’s because I still have my daughters in the house, and maybe that will change when I’m an empty nester, but I’m looking for something very specific.”
Barrymore, a mother of two, could relate to Theron. The 51-year-old said, “I love also prioritizing my kids and that has never felt like the wrong move for me, and you seem the same way.” The “Atomic Blonde” star agreed, saying, “It’s impossible not to. Your kids come first. They always come first.” She adopted her first daughter, Jackson, in 2012 and her youngest daughter, August, in 2015.
