Donald Trump’s Cheeky Gesture With Melania Raises Eyebrows at Royal Event

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump‘s recent encounter with King Charles III and Queen Camilla has garnered much attention from the media, but not for the obvious reason. During the meet-up of the two world leaders, the US president appeared to have shared a not-so-formal moment with his wife, which hasn’t gone unnoticed by the paparazzi.

Donald Trump’s playful move with wife Melania captures attention

On Tuesday, April 28, while receiving the British monarch and his wife, Trump seemed to have unconsciously tapped the First Lady’s rear. Media operatives present at the political event caught the awkward moment on their cameras, which has since gone viral on the internet.

As visible in a brief clip shared by journalist Aaron Rupar, Donald Trump can be seen welcoming King Charles III and the Queen consort of the United Kingdom with his wife, Melania Trump, standing right beside him. The snippet shows King Charles shaking hands with the US president, before shifting his attention towards the First Lady. However, right when the monarch extended his hand to greet Melania, the president proceeded to place his hand on his wife’s waist.

Almost instinctively, Trump moved his hand to tap Melania’s behind, before apparently realizing what he had done. As such, the businessman-turned-politician swiftly changed the position of his hand and placed it on Melania’s back, around her waistline, before removing it altogether. Trump then shook hands with Queen Camilla with a calm demeanor, as if nothing had happened.

The cheeky incident took place after the Trumps had welcomed their British counterparts to the White House, with the arrival ceremony taking place on the South Lawn in the presence of more than two dozen military honor guards. After the festivities, King Charles III made a celebrated address to the Congress, becoming the first British monarch to do so in 35 years.
