Donald Trump Wonders if He Can Go to Space

Donald Trump recently invited NASA’s Artemis II astronauts to the Oval Office for a press conference. During this, he asked NASA’s chief, Jared Isaacman, if it was possible for the president to make it to space. Isaacman admitted that he can in the future when they build more opportunities for this to happen. Moreover, he praised the astronauts for their courage and intellect before expressing his belief that he can possibly go to space, as he claims to be in a physically good condition, which is one of the aspects needed for out-of-Earth travel.

Trump turned to Isaacman to ask whether he could go to space. To this, the NASA chief replied, “We can get working on that. We’ll launch more rockets, more opportunities.” The president further went on to share kind words about the astronauts, expressing pride and lauding their bravery. He said, “We’re very proud of these people. They have unbelievable courage, unbelievable a lot of other things too.”

While he continued his appreciation for the astronauts, he also slipped in a few words of praise for himself, claiming that it’s possible for him to make it to space, as well, as he’s in good physical condition. “To get in there, you have to be very smart, have to do a lot of things physically good. So I would have had no trouble making it, I’m physically very, very good. Maybe a little bit of a problem. We’ll have to try it,” he elaborated.

This isn’t the first time the quartet has been invited by Trump, as previously they were present at the State of the Union speech in February. Moreover, he invited them to the White House after their completion of a historic six-day lunar flyby. He congratulated them from Earth while they were still at the Orion capsule, about to set off on their return journey. “You’ve made history and made all America really proud. America is a frontier nation, and the four brave astronauts of Artemis II … really are modern-day pioneers.”
