Erika Kirk talks about White House Correspondent Dinner

Erika Kirk has revealed the controversial reason why she attended the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in a recent video message filmed on the set of her late husband, Charlie Kirk’s, podcast. The Turning Point CEO said she wanted to confront journalists over their coverage of her and criticize what she described as the “evil forces” in the media.

“Many of the journalists in that room have attempted to dehumanize me. I wanted to meet some of them face to face, quite frankly,” Kirk revealed. “Why have a conversation about me when you can have a conversation with me?” she asked.

The TPUSA CEO shared that the reporter approached her to offer condolences for the loss of her husband. Kirk recalled responding, “It is so nice to put a name to the face, especially with all the slander, the lies, the accusations that are out there surrounding my husband’s murder and myself.”

She further recounted telling the reporter, “This is my first time at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner.” She added, “I find it so fascinating the dynamic that is going on right now, because everyone is all dressed up, and you guys are co-mingling in and out of each other’s cocktail parties. And so for one night, you are able to put aside all of your differences for the sake of freedom of speech.”

Erika added, “And then by Monday morning, things will go back to being an absolute bloodbath between all of you.” She then recalled that “gunshots rang out, and total chaos ensued.” It was just moments after her conversation with the Daily Mail journalist. The WHCD event on Saturday night ended abruptly when an assailant fired gunshots inside the venue. Law enforcement later identified the suspect as Cole Tomas Allen, who authorities arrested on site.
