Last March, Dakota Mortensen filed a protective order against his ex, Taylor Frankie Paul. Then, several weeks later, this Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star filed a protective order against Dakota. Yesterday, Taylor and Dakota had a hearing concerning their competing orders. And during this hearing, their judge ruled to extend both of their restraining orders for three years, noting that they both needed “to stay away from each other.”
Taylor and Dakota face-off in court

Yesterday, according to the Los Angeles Times, third district court commissioner Russell Minas ruled for “mutual orders” between Taylor and Dakota for three years. “I am just concerned that if I don’t order both of them to stay away from each other, there’s going to be some additional problems,” he explained. So, “right now,” he ordered, “you two need to stay away from each other. And there needs to be orders that will result in consequences if you attempt to try [and] engage each other because I still think you have this attraction to each other, physical or otherwise.”
Shortly after, Taylor’s attorney, Eric M. Swinyard, spoke with TMZ. “Today’s hearing was a significant step forward as the Court entered protective orders requiring that Taylor’s ex-partner stay far away from her,” he explained. “Taylor was incredibly candid with the Court that she is not perfect and owned her faults,” he added. And now, “She looks forward to continuing to cooperate with the Court to make progress in the custody case.”
The Court has yet to rule on their custody battle involving their son, Ever. However, they are reconvining on June 1. Until then, both parties have been advised to continue working toward their mediation.
