Donald Trump Jokes He’s Not a Senior Citizen

Donald Trump recently joked that he is not a senior citizen while speaking at a retirement community in Florida. While Trump is turning 80 in June, he is set to become the oldest sitting president in the US by the end of his second term. The President has previously addressed claims regarding his health and shut them down.

Donald Trump recently addressed a retirement community in Florida, where he joked about being a senior citizen.

Trump highlighted that his administration has helped Florida’s 2.5 million seniors with $13 billion in financial aid. He went on to quip, “Now, think of that. Now, I don’t happen to be a senior. I’m much younger than you. Look at you, old guys, wouldn’t you like to be my age?” The President continued the joke by suggesting that his age makes him “young, vital, vibrant.”

Trump further added, “Now, I’m much, much younger than the people in this room, but I feel I can relate to you anyway.” He took a jibe at his critics and asserted, “See, now the fake news will go tonight, and they’ll say, ‘he’s claiming to be younger than the people.’ Do you understand?”

The health and age debate surrounding the President gained ground previously after people noticed a bruised hand while he addressed reporters at Palm Beach International Airport in Florida. The bruise appeared to be spreading to his fingers and was reportedly covered with light-colored makeup. This is not the first time Trump’s hand has become a center of attention on social media.

In response to speculation about his health, a White House spokesperson, Davis Ingle, spoke with the Daily Beast and described Trump as “the sharpest, most accessible, and energetic president.” He further conveyed that the President meets many people and “shakes their hands on a daily basis,” suggesting this is the reason for the bruise.
