Size Matters as Jeff Bezos Lets Go of His Beloved $500 Million Superyacht Koru

Jeff Bezos is going through a big first-world problem, literally. The billionaire founder of Amazon is parting ways with his superyacht. Koru, as it’s known, is back on the market with Jeff selling the luxury boat for a whopping $500 million.

The reason for the sale, according to a source, is that the yacht has become too huge for even the wealthy Jeff to manage. The vessel is over 400 feet, making it among the world’s largest sailing yachts.

Apparently Jeff Bezos’ Koru doesn’t fit in certain ports…

It seems bigger is not always better. A source tells Page Six that Jeff is selling his boat primarily for that reason. Jeff can afford exclusive access to any big event around the world, but his yacht not so much. In 2025, Koru couldn’t get a mooring in the Monaco Grand Prix because of its size. That was the case for his wedding last summer to Lauren Sánchez. The boat couldn’t get anywhere near the lagoon. Meanwhile, in 2023, it was too big to dock in the Florida Everglades.

Size may be a big reason for the sale, though getting it off his hands could provide Jeff with some financial relief. That’s because in November, it was revealed that Jeff and Lauren were paying for the Met Gala. That massive event begins today, with the theme being Costume Art.

While getting access to some things on that boat is tough, it still captures plenty of attention from celebrities. Oprah Winfrey, Kim Kardashian, Leonardo DiCaprio, Katy Perry, and Usher are among the big names who’ve been aboard the vessel. The ship has a glass-bottom pool, three jacuzzis and a helipad. It has a crew of 36 and can accommodate up to 18 guests.

Jeff’s luxury boat also contains a $75 million support ship, though it’s unclear if Abeona is a part of this deal. Reports suggest it costs around $30 million annually to operate the yacht. That may feel like chunk change, given his estimated net worth in 2025 was $250 billion.
