Seth Meyers dropped a three-word question for MAGA supporters after Donald Trump’s new poll results surfaced. Since the poll results showcased a record-low approval rating, the talk show host addressed the president’s supporters while bringing up the ongoing global conflicts.
Seth Meyers questions Donald Trump supporters after new poll
During the April 5 episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, the host spoke about Donald Trump’s approval rating. He played a clip of a news broadcast, reporting the president’s new poll numbers. According to MS News, Trump has received a disapproval of 62%, reportedly the highest ever in the survey’s history.
After the clip ended, Meyers joked about it and compared it to COVID-19 and the January 6, 2021, United States Capitol attack. He then addressed the remaining 38% who voted for the Republican leader, asking, “What’s your deal?”
“Look, I get that you’re MAGA, but like what do you actually approve of?” the SNL alum continued. “Is it worth it for you to pay high gas prices if it means liberals also pay high gas prices? Is that how much you want to own the libs at the cost of owning thyself?”
The Emmy-winner wondered what’s left for MAGA, joking about whether they’re interested in Trump’s YMCA dancing. He added that the dancing is the “next to go.”
Meyers then played a clip of Trump, in which the host believed that the president appeared exhausted. “Have you seen how tired he is? He barely has the energy to get through a meeting in the Oval Office. Dude always looks like my kids when I’m on the last few pages of ‘Goodnight Moon.’”
The 52-year-old continued to address MAGA, asking, “Seriously, what’s your deal? Do you like the corruption? The wars? Oh, do you like his beautiful poetry?”
Once again, he played a clip of Trump from a press meet. In the video, the president is seen saying, “Nothing bad can happen. It can only good happen.” Meyers wondered if that’s what resonated with the MAGA supporters, joking that Trump might’ve gotten those lines from a “fortune cookie written by Frankenstein.”
