Noah Syndergaard says he’s envious of Donald Trump’s ‘mental energy’

During his appearance on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle, former MLB pitcher Noah Syndergaard, who has played for the New York Mets, Los Angeles Angels, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Cleveland Guardians, praised President Donald Trump for his “mental energy.”

The 33-year-old pitcher said he admired how energetic and sharp the 79-year-old president appeared. “I’m envious of the mental energy that this guy has, the sharpness he has, the comedic nature of everything he says. He’s just a joy to be around,” Syndergaard said.

Syndergaard visited the White House for an event celebrating the return of the Presidential Physical Fitness Award.

However, the comments received criticism online, with some social media users disagreeing with Syndergaard’s assessment of the president. Several users on X responded by sharing images and clips of Trump appearing tired or dozing off during public meetings.

“Noah is a baseball player who never went to college. Nobody ever confused him for a nuclear scientist,” one user wrote in response to Syndergaard’s comments. Another user wrote, “Are you sure about that Noah? There isn’t a trace of Energy nor sharpness within this Orange buffoon,” another user wrote with pictures of Trump sleeping in cabinet meetings. Another user added, “What’s Noah’s history of being hit in the head with baseballs?”

Trump’s mental sharpness and public appearances have remained a frequent topic of discussion among both supporters and critics.

Meanwhile, other political issues surrounding Trump, including reactions to his stance on the Iran war, have also sparked debate across the United States.
