Priscilla Presley admits that she didn’t have the greatest experience on Dancing with the Stars in 2008.
Unfortunately, her time on DWTS Season 6 was marred by her professional partner’s attention being focused elsewhere. According to Priscilla, Louis van Amstel was allegedly distracted by his new relationship at the time.
“I could not wait to get kicked off that show,” she confessed during a speaking engagement in Las Vegas. “I was so nervous because … my partner, who I liked very much, was in a new relationship with another guy.”
The former Dancing with the Stars contestant thought her pro dancer was more interested in his new relationship

During her time on DWTS, Elvis’ ex claimed that Louis was always rushing out of rehearsals to get home to his new partner. “He had a date, and he wanted to get this and that,” Priscilla alleged. “I was a little bit frustrated because he put that before us … We could have done a lot better.”
As a result of Louis’ always wanting to be somewhere else, they only rehearsed about three hours a day. Meanwhile, their competitors were practicing for up to six hours.
“I like challenges,” she said. “[But] I didn’t know how to dance that well … I thought, ‘You know what? I’m gonna go in for it and do it, and I think it’ll be fun.’ Yeah, still nerve-wracking.”
Despite giving it her best shot, Priscilla and Louie finished in eighth place. Former Olympic figure skating champion Kristi Yamaguchi took home the mirror ball, alongside her partner Mark Ballas.
Nevertheless, Louis says he enjoyed their time on the dancefloor together. “What an amazing woman,” he told Us Weekly in November 2025. “We always have dinner when I come to Los Angeles.”
That is, when Priscilla’s not reportedly otherwise engaged trying to find a new man for her friend Sarah Ferguson.
Dancing with the Stars is streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.
