Meanwhile, a video has been circulating on social media that captured a sweet and awkward interaction between the two men. When Charles reached the songwriter, the mood seemed to lighten because of a moment of laughter the monarch shared with the guest before Stewart. The latter, too, met the king with a big smile. They shook hands and offered kind words.
Stewart praised the royal as he said, “May I say, well done in the Americas. You were superb. Absolutely superb. You put that little rat bag in his place.” While the first comments could seemingly have made Charles happy, the last statement reportedly created an awkward moment.
