Kate Middleton Will Receive High-Ranking Honor During Italy Visit — Report

Kate Middleton will reportedly receive a rare honour during her trip to northern Italy this week. The Princess of Wales will collect the “Primo Tricolore,” the highest award the city of Reggio Emilia can bestow, in recognition of her work on early childhood development. Officials will reportedly present her with the green, white, and red flag that first flew in the city in 1797 and later became the national symbol of a unified Italy, tying the piece of history with Middleton’s mission.

Kate Middleton will be honored with ‘Primo Tricolore’ during Italy visit, claims report

Hello! Magazine reported that Kate Middleton will receive a major honor in Italy — the Tricolore, which has the coat of arms of the Cispadane Republic. Besides, it was born in Reggio Emilia long before the country formally united in 1861.

Mayor Marco Massari laid out the thinking at a council session, stating, “We consider this visit truly prestigious because it highlights one of the experiences that make our city a model known and appreciated worldwide.” He added that Middleton’s visit is “of great importance.”

The princess travels in her role as patron of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, not on behalf of the British government. That implies that the presentation will likely take place away from the cameras rather than in a public ceremony — and yet, the symbolism cuts through the closed doors.

Middleton has been, for years, pushing to make the first five years of a child’s life a mainstream conversation, and the Reggio Approach — an educational philosophy born in the same Italian community — shares their belief that children learn best through exploration and relationships.

Italy’s “Primo Tricolore” honour ties Kate Middleton’s contemporary campaign to one of Europe’s oldest symbols of identity and renewal. Moreover, it underlines how her public role has shifted, becoming less about waving from balconies and more about sitting down with educators and mayors who share her goal.
