Hayden Panettiere goes candid about relationship with her child, shutting down ‘abandonment’ claims
Hayden Panettiere recently spoke about the rumors surrounding her “abandoning” her child. She appeared in an episode of Jay Shetty’s podcast, “On Purpose.” During a candid conversation, he mentioned the speculations that sparked after she gave her daughter Kaya’s custody to her ex-fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko.
As per the host, the reports, at the time, claimed that she had left her baby. While clearing the air on the podcast, Panettiere slammed the reports. She said that the reality was far from the truth.
“The idea that anybody would think that I would just give away my child and be okay with it is heartbreaking,” the actress stated. Furthermore, the 36-year-old explained that she was the “one who sought out” the situation in the past. She called herself a “mother lion,” who would have “burnt the world down” for her child’s sake.
Panettiere revealed that the decision to sign Kaya’s custody over to her ex-fiancé was “incredibly difficult.” However, she made it for the kid’s future as she reportedly went to Europe for treatment. When she “got healthy,” she thought it would be “unfair of me to and selfish of me to try to pull [Kaya] out away from this life that she had.”
Moreover, the singer shared that she shares an “incredible relationship” with her daughter. Praising her baby girl, Panettiere added that the child has “two parents that love her.” “She in no way feels abandoned — and that’s something that I’ve made sure to be stay on top of and be very aware of,” she said.
