Amal Clooney pulled a piece from Alexander McQueen’s archival Fall 2007 collection. The floor-length gown featured cap sleeves and a V-neck silhouette completely embellished with vertical columns of sequins and beads. Rendered in a gilded tone, a chevron-like pattern converged at the waist to create a flattering, cinched effect. Meanwhile, the repetitive, rhythmic lines of the beadwork gave the dress a liquid-like movement, reminiscent of the high-glamour aesthetics of the 1920s.
Clooney paired the dress with Christian Louboutin Kate Max mirrored leather pumps. The gold pointed-toe pumps maintained the monochromatic color palette from the shoulder to the floor. Further, she was carrying a gold sequined clutch, which kept the metallic theme of her look cohesive. She was also wearing a Panthère de Cartier Bracelet and Juste Un Clou Earrings, also from Cartier.
