Ex-Prince Andrew Accused of Kicking ‘His Dog in the Head’ in Updated Book

Ex-Prince Andrew allegedly abused his dog during a Sandringham gathering. In the book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, author Andrew Lownie says the former Duke kicked his dog in the head.

The book will be published on May 21. The account wasn’t mentioned in the first edition, published in August 2025.

Hello! magazine reported that after kicking his dog, the book says Andrew left it whimpering. This occurred after the dog was misbehaving during a pheasant shoot.

The author wrote, “Mid-morning, everyone gathered for hot soup and sausage rolls. The guest was standing next to Andrew, who had his Labrador by his side. Suddenly the dog leapt and snatched the guest’s sausage roll from his hand, causing him to laugh.” This is when Andrew kicked the dog.

The book details how the guest reprimanded Andrew, calling his behavior “disgusting.” The ex-Prince responded with an expletive, saying, “It is none of your business, and I will do precisely what I want to MY dogs,” according to the book.

Later, Prince Philip approached the guest to applaud him for scolding Andrew, according to the author. “What you said to my son today was absolutely right, and Her Majesty and I fully agree with what you said. Andrew needs a good scolding from time to time,” Philip said.

A well-known dog lover, the late Queen Elizabeth had many corgis throughout the years. Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson inherited her two dogs, Muick and Sandy, after she died in 2022.

While walking the dogs on May 6 in Norfolk, Andrew was verbally assaulted by a masked man. Norfolk police arrested the man in Wolferton, where the ex-Prince’s home, Marsh Farm, is located on the Sandringham estate. Alex Jenkinson faces charges in this and another case.

On July 29, he will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court, with Andrew providing his account of the attack.
