Adult film star Maitland Ward slams Sydney Sweeney’s ‘baby’ scene from Euphoria Season 3
Online buzz heats up around a storyline involving Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie, who uses OnlyFans to pay for her wedding with Nate, played by Jacob Elordi. As events move forward, Cassie’s posts grow more intense after the breakup between the pair. One controversial scene shows her styled like a baby, with pigtails and a pacifier, while wearing a sheer outfit on set
Maitland Ward criticized the way the show presents such content on screen and pushed back against what she calls unrealistic portrayals of the industry. Speaking in a TMZ interview, the former actress said, “There’s all sorts of stuff that you can’t do,” she noted, adding that the baby-like sexualized theme crosses a line for her. Ward described the concept as really disturbing and “gross,” stressing that while playful adult roleplay can exist, it must avoid anything that feels underage-coded. She added the execution felt badly handled and honestly “vile.”
She also warned that certain portrayals cross serious boundaries. “You don’t want pedophilia anywhere near pornography,” she told TMZ Live hosts Harvey Levin and Charles Latibeaudiere. Ward argued that the storyline risks sending the wrong message about adult platforms and those who use them. She said it could distort how audiences view real creators and the rules they follow. “There are so many creators who are really working hard to build their brands every day, and this is really disingenuous,” Ward shared.
Other adult creators have also weighed in on the depiction. Sydney Leathers said, “There’s just a lot that’s ridiculous and cartoonish about it.” Kayla Jade criticized the show on TikTok, saying it makes it seem like creators “have zero boundaries and will do anything for a bit of money.”
