Donald Trump Makes Unexpected Remark About President Xi’s Height

Donald Trump had nothing but warm words for President Xi Jinping following his trip to China, with the Republican Party leader even making an appreciative, albeit peculiar, comment about his counterpart’s height. In a recent interview, Trump shared his experience meeting with the Chinese leader, wherein he lauded Jinping’s build and other physical features.

Donald Trump comments on President Xi’s height

During a sit-down on May 14, the US President bizarrely stated that his Chinese equivalent is very tall for someone who comes from the Middle Kingdom.

“If you went to Hollywood and you look for a leader of China, to play a role in a movie, he’s central casting …you couldn’t find a guy like him,” Donald Trump told Fox News’ Sean Hannity before commending President Xi Jinping’s height.

The POTUS added, “Even his physical features, you know, he’s tall, very tall, and especially for this country, because they tend to be a little bit shorter…but no, if you went to Hollywood, you wouldn’t find that, you’re not going to find a guy to play the role who’s good. I say it about him, and I could say it about some, not as complimentary, frankly, for the most part, but I say about him.”

Trump also hailed Jinping for his straightforward attitude, stating, “I think he’s a warm person, actually, but he’s all business. There’s no games. There’s no talking about how nice the weather is. ‘Aw, let’s look at the stars, let’s look at the sun,’ you know. No, he’s all business, and I like that. That’s a good thing. No games.”

However, Donald Trump acknowledged that praising the Chinese leader could land him in trouble. “They always criticize me when I say good things about certain leaders, and this one, but he’s a leader for China. He’s led almost 1.5 billion people for a long time, and he’s respected. It’s sort of interesting when the fake news…they’ll say President Trump said that President Xi was a brilliant leader. That’s a terrible thing. What am I going to do?” he remarked.

Meanwhile, Trump departed Beijing on May 15, concluding his two-day trip to China.
