According to a report, Donald Trump is set to build a permanent helipad at the White House. He aims to solve a recurring problem: helicopters damaging the grass beneath them. Trump is therefore planning to address it with a new helipad. This news comes a few days after Trump reportedly called the White House “sh*t” before he moved in.
Donald Trump wants to build helipad on White House lawn, claims report
Generally, if Donald Trump goes anywhere, the Marine One sign is often used to call the helicopter for him. He boards from the White House’s South Lawn. However, this ritual is about to change. Trump is planning to build a permanent helipad. He wants to do it possibly as early as this summer, according to anonymous sources involved in internal discussions.
It’s known that this construction idea has been proposed for a long time. However, it appears to have been addressed recently to resolve a long-standing problem. Here, the problem is that Marine One helicopters damaged the White House lawn. This happens because VH-92A Patriot helicopters emit exhaust heat downward, which harms the grass. This issue has prevented the use of the VH-92A at the White House. But it remains in support of Trump’s travel elsewhere. The aircraft’s company, Sikorsky, and Sikorsky’s parent company, Lockheed Martin, have tried to find a solution for the same (via The Wall Street Journal).
This news comes a few days after Trump’s bold comments about the White House during his second Rose Garden Club dinner. He initially said that First Lady Melania had asked him not to use foul language and to act like a president. As a result, he said he avoided using any bad words but described what he might have said about the house if he had not been restricted. He said, “I would have said it was a s— house, but I don’t want to say that.” Trump detailed that the White House had many problems, including plaster and columns falling.
He shared how he improved the White House. Trump said, ” [It] is tippy-top now, including all of the brand new beautiful stone, I paid for it myself, all of the stone, all of the different things we have.”
