Brad Pitt did not contact his adopted daughter, Zahara Marley Jolie, before her college graduation because their estrangement remained deep, a source claimed. The “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” actor also reportedly made no ticket request for the ceremony at Spelman.
A new report said Angelina Jolie and the kids were there to support Zahara’s graduation weekend. The claim placed the family milestone inside the wider fallout from Brad and Angelina’s 2016 split. It also explained why outreach was allegedly considered unwelcome.
Brad Pitt’s estrangement from daughter Zahara prevented him from reaching out, per source
As per a TMZ report, Brad Pitt did not reach out before the ceremony. The report said the graduation ceremony took place over the weekend. Sources told the outlet he did not contact anyone about getting a ticket. A source close to Angelina Jolie said Zahara’s mom and siblings were present. They were “cheering her and her Spelman sisters on.” The source added, “Nothing prevented him from showing up for her.” They added, “Or ever visiting her.”
The same source said the day centered on Zahara‘s achievement, not Pitt’s attendance. “The day was about all she accomplished,” the insider added. However, sources connected to Pitt gave a different explanation for the silence. TMZ reported he did not reach out because he was estranged from his kids. Those sources claimed any outreach would be “unwelcome” amid animosity connected to Jolie. The report made Zahara’s graduation another public sign of family distance.
For context, TMZ said Zahara has not had a close relationship with Pitt since his split from Angelina Jolie. At college, Zahara dropped “Pitt” and began going by Zahara Marley Jolie. The outlet noted Angelina adopted Zahara at seven months old. Pitt later adopted her during his marriage to the “Maleficent” actor. Meanwhile, Zahara is not the only one among their kids to drop the name. Shiloh petitioned to legally remove Pitt from her name. Vivienne also used Vivienne Jolie in “The Outsiders.”
