Donald Trump revealed the reason why he doesn’t prefer to deliver a speech after his wife, Melania Trump. On Tuesday, the U.S. President and the First Lady hosted the Congressional Picnic at the White House. After addressing the crowd, the former model welcomed her husband to give his speech. Trump accepted the offer and congratulated his wife for her powerful remarks. Then he started his speech, saying that he “hates” speaking after Melania.
Donald Trump says following up after Melania’s speech ‘makes him look not so good’
Donald Trump would reportedly not prefer to “follow” his wife, Melania Trump. On May 19, the White House hosted the Congressional Picnic on the South Lawn. The U.S. President and the First Lady delivered their respective speeches and greeted the guests. However, Trump’s remarks regarding his wife left the crowd in stitches.
According to a video on X, Melania stepped back after her speech and welcomed her husband to the podium. Trump kissed her cheek and praised her before taking over the mic. He started, “What a great job, I have to follow that? I hate it! I never like following our great First Lady, because it makes me look not so good.” His remarks left the attendees laughing.
Furthermore, he welcomed his guests and then continued to hail his wife. Trump mentioned her 2026 movie, “Melania,” claiming it ranked “number 1.” For those unversed, Melania starred in the film, offering a rare glimpse into her life as first lady and exploring her relationship with her husband.
Interestingly, this was not the first time the president had openly discussed and lauded his wife’s movie. During a Mother’s Day speech, he called Melania an “incredible mom” and praised her role as the first lady. Moreover, he claimed that her film “became the number one movie” and ranked at the top on Amazon Prime Video.
