The biggest Survivor season just ended, but a new one promises to be just as big. Season 50 was In the Hands of the Fans. The upcoming one will see twists galore in what is being pegged as The Open Era.
Incorporating twists from the new and old school era of Survivor, there won’t be a shortage of things to create paranoia. There will be a completely new crop of contestants battling the elements and each other for the title of sole Survivor.
Here’s what to expect from Survivor 51.
Survivor host Jeff Probst gave a glimpse of what’s to come on Season 51
Even after all these years, Survivor continues to shock fans and contestants. As Season 50 came to an end, we saw a trailer for the new season.
Host Jeff Probst narrates the teaser saying, “every advantage, every idol, every twist we’ve ever done, 50 seasons of Survivor, is in play.” That is a lot to take in after we just concluded Season 50 with plenty of unique twists that the American version has never seen before.
Given all the twists and idols and other shenanigans the show has seen, one wonders if they’ll literally be able to cram everything into next season. Jeff added backstage that anything “that has ever happened at any time on the show can happen in any season at any time in any order without any warning.” Again, with how few days there are in the new era of Survivor, compared to the traditional 39, it could mean a lot of things.
We do know that filming wrapped up for that season in Fiji recently, but we’ll have to wait for a while for an official cast list. Based on reports, though, there will be some big names. They include Devin Way from Queer as Folk Fame, and former WWE NXT superstar Brady Booker. Survivor 51 will be coming out in the fall. There is said to be 21 contestants who will take part.
Spoiler Alert: The $2 million winner of Survivor 50 was Aubry Bracco.
Survivor is available to stream on Paramount+.
