Donald Trump Trolled By Senator Over Son’s Wedding Comment

President Donald Trump may skip his son’s wedding, and a senator has something to say about it. New Jersey Sen. Andy Kim mocked Trump’s uncertain attendance in a viral social media post. During an Oval Office briefing on Thursday, reporters asked Trump whether he planned to attend the upcoming Bahamas wedding of his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., to socialite Bettina Anderson.

Reporters asked Donald Trump if he has plans to attend the upcoming Bahamas wedding of his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., to Bettina Anderson. “Ughhh, he’d like me to go. But it’s going to be just a small little private affair, and I’m going to try and make it,” Trump replied.

He then explained, “I said: ‘You know, this is not good timing for me. I have a thing called Iran and other things.'” Trump acknowledged the no-win situation he found himself in. “That’s one I can’t win on. If I do attend, I get killed. If I don’t attend, I get killed—by the fake news, of course, I’m talking about… He’s uh got a very uh – person who I’ve known for a long time,” he added. “Hopefully they’re gonna have a great marriage.”

Trump’s remarks, especially describing his own son as someone he has “known for a long time,” got mocked online. Senator Andy Kim posted a photo of his young son on X alongside the caption, “My son has a soccer game this weekend. He’d like me to go. I’m going to try. I said, ‘This is not good timing for me.’ He’s a person I’ve known for a long time.”

Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding to Anderson is scheduled for Saturday in the Bahamas, according to Page Six. This will be his second marriage. He and his first wife, Vanessa Trump, separated in 2018. However, the White House released Trump’s weekend schedule after his Thursday remarks, showing he is expected to be in Bedminster, New Jersey, on Saturday.
