Donald Trump recently appeared to inspect the White House pillars for nearly six minutes, leaving many wondering what was going on. He touched the pillars before speaking to staff members and asking them to take photos. Many people took to social media to share their thoughts on what they believed Trump’s intention was behind the inspection. The moment comes just days after Trump boasted about his contribution in making the “sh*t house” look good.
Donald Trump stops and inspects White House pillar for six minutes
Trump made his return from Arlington National Cemetery and stopped by to check the pillars that support the White House. He spent 6 minutes examining the pillars, trying to touch and point at them. He seems to talk about it to staffers, asking them to take a picture of the pillars. However, it remained unclear what he found wrong with the pillars.
Many took to social media to speculate on why Trump stopped by to examine those White House pillars. One jokingly wrote, “Let me guess, he wants statues of himself instead of columns?” Another added, “Im sure he wants them to be gold.” A third said, “Contractors, eye. It might show signs of deterioration, be slightly crooked, or have inferior patching. Who knows but that eye will catch anything not perfect.” Other comments included “Trump demands absolute perfection on White House columns,” “Is he going to paint his face all over them!” and “It’s blocking his way. That column should be removed.”
This video comes a few days after the president gave a speech at an event honoring law enforcement officials. He spoke about a wide range of topics, including the bad condition of White House after he joined the administration. He said, “This place was not properly taken care of.” He complained that the columns and plaster were falling off before crediting himself for bringing the house back in shape. “You know, it looked, and this place is tippy top now, including all the brand-new, beautiful stone. I paid for it myself,” he boasted (via The Mirror).
