Jimmy Kimmel Urges Viewers to Reject Spencer Pratt After Surprising Remark

Jimmy Kimmel, of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” appeared on his show on May 27 and launched into a monologue on former reality star turned political candidate, Spencer Pratt.

The latter is contesting for the position of Los Angeles Mayor against Karen Bass and Councilwoman Nithya Raman.

Jimmy Kimmel comments on Spencer Pratt amid LA Mayor election

“Let’s be honest, this city is a mess,” Kimmel said. “That became obvious during the [Pacific Palisades] fires…They’re frustrated because nothing seems to change.”

Kimmel started by supporting some of Pratt’s opinions before warning his audience against voting for the pro-Trump candidate. He explained that though Pratt lacks leadership skills, he is “moderately famous,” and “It’s hard not to agree with what he has to say. He’s angry about the same problems a lot of people here are angry about. Does he have solutions to those problems? No.”

Kimmel continued saying that Pratt may not be aiming to be “sitting in City Council meetings all day talking about zoning?” and answered his own question, saying, “No. He wants to be a star again. And guess what? It’s working.” He also said that The Hills star is following a similar route to power as President Donald Trump, who too was a reality star.

However, as a final warning, Kimmel discouraged people from voting for Pratt, saying, “If you don’t want to vote for Karen Bass on June 2, I get it, but you better find somebody else to vote for, and preferably somebody who isn’t wasting our time and money to get himself back on television.”

Pratt responded by posting, “Jimmy’s secretly voting for me.”

The election may be more complex than we thought. Incumbent mayor Karen Bass is not likely to have a clean pass, as her competitors Spencer Pratt and Nithya Raman are nipping at her heels by surging by 8% points since March.
