Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni lawsuit drama intensifies
The legal dispute involving Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively appears to be continuing. Following a lengthy court battle related to their work on It Ends With Us, the parties reached a settlement several weeks ago.
Lively has now returned to court in connection with Baldoni’s dismissed $400 million defamation lawsuit against her.
According to court documents obtained by Page Six, the Gossip Girl actress is seeking to recover her legal fees and costs related to the defamation case. The filing also reportedly seeks treble damages and punitive damages. However, the specific amount being sought has not been publicly disclosed.
Representatives for neither Baldoni nor Lively have publicly commented on the latest filing.
The parties had been scheduled to appear in court on May 18, 2026, following Lively’s lawsuit against Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment. Before the scheduled court proceedings, the parties reached a settlement agreement. Prior to the settlement, a judge dismissed 10 of the 13 claims at issue in the case. This included claims related to conspiracy, sexual harassment, and defamation.
In response to Lively’s lawsuit, Baldoni filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and publicist Leslie Sloane. The countersuit included allegations of defamation and extortion, among other claims. The lawsuit was later dismissed in June 2025.
The latest filing indicates that legal proceedings connected to the dispute remain ongoing. Additional details may emerge as the case moves forward.
