Halsey’s $785 Plunging Selkie Gown Dips Dangerously Low in New Shoot

Halsey channelled an ethereal, gothic-romantic aesthetic in a $785 plunging Selkie gown that dipped low at the front. She shared a carousel of photos and videos from the photoshoot on her Instagram page on May 30. The singer posed against a rustic background at night, evoking gothic horror vibes.

Halsey wore the Selkie’s The Ivory Waltz Gown, which had a 1960s silhouette. The voluminous, pure white gown featured a wide off-the-shoulder neckline that the singer pulled up to her shoulders to create a square neckline. Layers of billowy organdy fabric added volume and a sense of whimsy to the dress.

Meanwhile, the long sleeves, adorned with ties and lace trim mirrored the cinched details of the skirt. Velvet ribbon ties decorated the waist, bust, and sleeves. The large skirt spread out dramatically across the green grass as she leaned back in an expressive pose. She paired it with dark accessories and a moody beauty look.

The close-up in the short clip she shared showed her wearing a thick gold or bronze cross pendant on a simple cord necklace. Her long, dark brunette hair is styled with fine braids woven near the crown, with the rest of her textured tresses left loose and flowing dynamically backward. Her makeup was neutral and earthy, allowing the stark white fabric of the gown and the sculptural jewelry to remain the focal points of her look.

On May 10, the “Gasoline” singer shared a gothcore video of herself set to “i think about you all the time” by deftones. She also wore a Selkie dress for that shoot. The Ivory Antique Chemise Gown she sported comes with functional drawstrings at the neck and sleeves. Further, it featured side pockets and a ruffle hem. She recently announced that she will be performing at the Rock in Rio Festival.
