Donald Trump was booed at the Knicks game during the NBA Finals on Monday. When he appeared on large screens during the national anthem, the crowd reportedly showed its displeasure. While it seemed he ignored people’s reactions, a body language expert said otherwise. According to them, the U.S. President was allegedly “caught off guard” by the audience’s booing incident.
Donald Trump’s response to Knicks game boos was a ‘facade,’ per body language expert
Donald Trump reportedly wasn’t happy about the booing he received at the Knicks game during the NBA Finals on June 8. While the cameras caught him with a smirk, body language expert Inbaal Honigman told Casino.org via OK! Magazine that his response was a “facade.”
“This instant, sudden change is the proof that he wasn’t expecting the boos, and he’s caught off guard, unable to maintain the show of confidence. It is the swiftness of the change which indicates the immediate shock,” he claimed.
On Monday, the U.S. President attended Game 3 of the NBA Finals with his granddaughter, Kai Trump. When a singer performed the national anthem, the cameras captured Trump in the VIP section. He was standing while saluting, smiling a little. As soon as he appeared on large screens, the crowd booed him.
Although it didn’t seem to affect him, Honigman claimed that his “impression of authority” was a “facade.” According to the expert, the politician initially smiled, but his expression changed when the booing began. “Trump’s facial expression quickly switches when he notices the booing, which suggests surprise, but his smirk lets the audience know that he thinks he’s better than they are,” Honigman said.
He had a smirk on his face, which the expert described as “condescending, indicating superiority and possibly even contempt.” Meanwhile, an earlier report claimed the crowd booed the president because ticket-holders had to wait several hours due to heightened security.
