Sydney Sweeney Calls for Release of Cut Euphoria Pole-Dancing Scene

Sydney Sweeney wants fans to see a deleted scene from Euphoria‘s final season. The actress says she spent weeks preparing for the sequence before it was cut. The Emmy-nominated star recently opened up about one of the moments viewers never got to watch. Although the footage did not make the final version, Sweeney hopes it could still be released later.

Looking back on Euphoria, Sydney Sweeney shared that one of Cassie’s most chaotic moments never actually made the final cut. In an interview with Vanity Fair, she revealed that the scrapped scene had Cassie tagging along with Maddy, played by Alexa Demie, to a strip club before getting caught up in the moment and deciding to jump on stage herself.  According to Sweeney, Cassie becomes convinced she can match the dancers and goes full send. The actress joked that seeing her character trying to work a pole would have been funny.

Sweeney went all in for the scrapped scene, revealing that she even took pole-dancing lessons to get ready. “It was so much fun,” the 28-year-old said, joking that seeing “crazy Cassie” on a pole would have been “hilarious.” She also came away with a whole new level of respect for the dancers, admitting, “Man, these girls are strong.”

In the end, though, creator Sam Levinson decided the scene didn’t quite fit the story and cut it before the episode aired. Sweeney said she understood the call, even if she was a little bummed. Levinson later floated the idea of releasing the footage as bonus content or deleted scenes, and she was instantly on board.

The actress also opened up about how tough it was to say goodbye to Cassie, a character she’s been playing since 2019. She explained that every season was made with the mindset that it could be the show’s last, so each farewell was emotional.

Sweeney admitted that Cassie has pushed her as an actress in ways few roles have. “She’s such a challenging role,” she said, adding that she loves being taken to emotional places other characters might never reach.
