Prince Harry Skipping King Charles’ Big Day Amid UK Return — Report

The royal family will gather once again this weekend for Trooping the Colour. The annual event celebrates King Charles III‘s official birthday and stands as one of the biggest dates on the royal calendar. While senior royals will attend, Prince Harry reportedly plans to stay in California.

Prince Harry reportedly won’t make an appearance on King Charles’ birthday

According to a report by Hello Magazine, King Charles and Queen Camilla will lead the celebrations on June 14. Prince William and Princess Kate will join them, along with Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie. The ceremony will include a military parade, a carriage procession, and the traditional Buckingham Palace balcony appearance.

Harry, however, will reportedly miss the event. Since leaving royal duties in 2020, he has skipped several major royal occasions. He no longer attends state banquets, Commonwealth events, or the family’s Christmas Day church walk.

Although Harry will miss Trooping the Colour, he plans to return to the UK next month. Birmingham will host the Invictus Games from July 10 to July 17. Harry founded the competition in 2014 and regularly attends its events. He will likely deliver a speech during the visit. Meghan Markle joined him at the last Invictus Games in Canada, but she has not confirmed plans for the Birmingham trip.

Harry last attended Trooping the Colour in 2022. He and Meghan watched the celebrations from a side window at Buckingham Palace. In 2019, they took a more visible role and appeared shortly after welcoming Prince Archie. A year earlier, they celebrated the occasion as newlyweds.

Questions also surround Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. The sisters missed the royal Easter service earlier this year. However, they remain close to the family. Their appearance at Trooping the Colour could mark a return to the spotlight.

For now, Harry’s absence will likely draw attention once again as the royal family gathers to celebrate the King’s birthday.
