The first fan vote of the season was too much for the Love Island USA app to handle. Fans of the show were in a huge state of confusion and frustration when the app crashed on Tuesday June 9. It was supposed to be the first opportunity for audiences to influence events at the Fiji Villa in Season 8.
Connection issues are to blame for the problem, with an overwhelming number of people eager to have their say. The vote was about who the new bombshells, Sol, Caleb and Jen, should be paired with.
The Love Island USA vote went wrong after the app crashed

For a change, there may be more stress among Love Island USA fans than the Islanders. Many who were keen on voting expressed anxiety about not being able to do so.
On Instagram, the show shared that an “overwhelming enthusiasm for America’s first vote caused the app to crash.” Fans were to have the chance to decide which Islanders’ the new bombshells were to couple up with, regardless of their current relationship status.
On Tuesday’s episode, Sol kissed both Gabriel and Sincere during her chats with them. She then went back for more with Sincere during an evening talk. Sincere had been paired with Melanie, though she has been open to exploring, particularly with Corbin.
Jen, meanwhile, kissed Gabriel during an evening chat, with the latter keeping that from his pair, Beatriz, and the other one with Sol.
Caleb seems to have been smitten by Kenzie, who has been wanting a country man in the Villa.
While the apps hiccup caused plenty of frustration among fans, the show is trying to make things right. They are extending the voting window until 3 pm ET / 12 pm PT today (June 10).
Season 8 premiered last week and has already had its fair share of controversy. Before the first episode, the show announced that one contestant had been ejected.
