Netflix Reality Show The Circle Moves to Hulu With New Live Elements and Celebrity Contestants

It looks like The Circle isn’t dead after all. After seven seasons of catfishing chaos on Netflix, the hit reality show is jumping to a new streamer with new twists and an exciting live format. We’ve got a reboot on our hands, and you’re definitely going to want to reactivate that old Hulu subscription.

It’s been nearly two years since we last got a new season of The Circle. Netflix never formally announced that they cancelled it. But, for context, we’ve endured four seasons of Love is Blind since we last saw a season of The Circle. The writing was on the wall that they were done playing these catfish games.

However, the show is produced by Studio Lambert, the same production company behind hit shows like The Traitors and Squid Game: The Challenge. They’ve got more than a few Emmys under their belt, and according to a report from Deadline, they’ve now entered a deal with Hulu to resurrect The Circle with a reimagined format that will set it apart from its Netflix days.

The original version featured regular people competing in a digital popularity contest, but the Hulu version will introduce celebrity players. They also appear to be taking a few notes from the Love Island playbook. Just like on Love Island, they’ll film the season in real time, and the audience watching along will be able to vote on elements of the show. Another first for The Circle!

This is just the latest Studio Lambert creation that’s headed to Hulu. Earlier this year, they announced The Mob, a celebrity reality competition show hosted by Parker Posey that kind of looks like The Traitors meets Mob Wives.

The word on the street is that the execs at Disney are trying to make a push for more competition shows on their streaming networks. Apparently, this is what that looks like.

The Circle is currently streaming on Netflix. Keep your eyes peeled for updates on its Hulu debut.
