However, he was trolled after hawk-eyed viewers spotted him apparently dozing off while watching the fight. The event coincides with Trump’s 80th birthday, which is also Flag Day, and is part of celebrations for America’s 250th anniversary.

Donald Trump, who turned 80 on Sunday, hosted a UFC event on the White House grounds as part of programming for America’s 250th anniversary. While all eyes were on the sporting event, some viewers noted that Trump appeared to be sleeping during the match. Once the clip went online, the president was brutally trolled for apparently falling asleep during a UFC event.
“MAGA will tell you it’s because he works hard all day. BS! Trump is a disgrace to the presidency,” posted a person on X (formerly Twitter). Another individual mentioned, “Sleepy Joe and now Sleepy Don Can we get a president under 50yo again?” A third suggested, “He needs to retire.” Meanwhile, another user commented, “’Dozing Donnie’ has drifted off into dreamland yet again… he’s pressed the snooze button of absurdity once more… -DW.”
As per the BBC, the fight is the first-ever professional sporting event held at the presidential residence. The championship opened with Trump walking from the White House to the arena, alongside Dana White, the UFC’s chief executive. He sat next to the Octagon. Moreover, several members of the Trump family, including both of his sons, were in attendance. As per the outlet, the president has praised the event, calling it “the greatest show on Earth.” He even compared the Claw, a 92-foot-high metal structure that looms over the octagon and many of the seats, to the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
