Donald Trump’s $14M Renovated Reflecting Pool Shows Algae Formation

Donald Trump‘s renovated reflecting pool showcases algae formation in recently captured snaps and videos. This comes after the president promised to have a “beautiful” and “much better” pool than it was. Earlier, he also provided an update on how a “massive” amount of garbage came out of the pool and was cleaned. He also slammed previous administrations for spending millions on the pool without improving its condition.

Photographer Andrew Leyden took to X (formerly Twitter) to share pictures and video of the newly renovated reflecting pool. It appeared to be green because of the algae formation. This post garnered mixed reactions from the public, some of whom called out the president for what they viewed as the renovation not living up to the promise. Some also came to defend, backing the pictures with scientific logic.

During a cabinet meeting earlier, Trump shared an update on the cleaning process of the reflecting pool. He claimed that they removed tons of garbage from it. “We cleaned it. We fumigated it. We had 10 major truck dumpsters of garbage taken out. Can you believe it?” he said.

Referring to its condition, he described the pool as “disgusting.” He said, “They had massive amounts of garbage. We then steam cleaned it, we then sandblasted it, and then we pebble blasted. It’s a bigger version of sand,” he added.

The president further slammed the Biden and Obama administrations for spending lots of money but not having done the work required on the pool. He said that while the predecessors promised to deliver the pool in some years, his administration will get it done before the US anniversary. He previously vowed, “You’re going to end up with a beautiful, beautiful reflecting pool, the way it’s supposed to be. Much better than it ever was, actually” (via CBS News).
