When Netflix released Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model, there was widespread backlash on the internet. Perhaps it’s no surprise then that host and judge Tyra Banks is now suing the streaming platform … which a former America’s Next Top Model winner just spoke out on.
Tyra Banks is suing Netflix for defamation after their ANTM doc
Taking to Instagram, Adrianne Curry, who won the first-ever cycle of ANTM, had some harsh words for Tyra.
“I read that Tyra Banks is suing Netflix because she didn’t like being edited,” Adrianne said in the video. “B*tch, for real girl?”
In addition to the video, Adrianne followed up with an equally direct caption and a comment. “Tyra doesn’t like being ‘edited’,” she wrote. “Lol. Welcome to the party, pal.”
“I wonder if it’s a publicity stunt from Netflix to get more viewers,” the former contestant followed up in a comment. “Or from her because she has something new coming.”
Elsewhere in the comment section, there were plenty of agreeable fans. “Love this for you,” one person wrote. “Sometimes it takes years for people to get what they have coming – so glad it’s time for her.”
“Get her girl,” someone else said, as a third chimed in with: “Karma.”
In case you missed it, PEOPLE recently obtained documents which seemingly show Tyra is suing Netflix over the scandalous documentary. Per the outlet, Tyra is accusing Netflix of defamation and heavily editing her on-camera interviews.
“Tyra Banks participated in the Netflix documentary series America’s Next Top Model (ANTM) because she believed viewers deserved a candid conversation about the show’s legacy, its successes and its shortcomings,” the documents reportedly read.
“There are aspects of the show for which Ms Banks takes accountability, and she wanted ANTM viewers to hear that from her directly,” the filing went on.
Netflix has not yet publicly responded.
