King Charles and Prince William’s rare Trooping the Colour moment has fans talking

King Charles, Queen Camilla, and other members of the Royal Family gathered on the Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the Royal Air Force flypast. Trooping the Colour, the annual military parade celebrating the monarch’s official birthday, has been a longstanding British tradition for more than 250 years.

During the ceremony, some viewers observed what appeared to be a brief moment of confusion involving King Charles and Queen Camilla before the national anthem.

Following the military ceremony at Horse Guards Parade and the procession back to Buckingham Palace, members of the Royal Family assembled on the palace balcony to watch the Royal Air Force flypast. After the flypast concluded, the King and Queen waved to the crowd and appeared to begin turning away from the balcony.

But Prince William stepped in to save the moment (via PEOPLE). The Prince seemingly exchanged a few words with his father, following which the King and the Queen turned around to face the crowd once again. The national anthem began at this point. King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis were all present at the scene alongside other royal family members.

After the national anthem, the King and Queen gave another wave to the crowd before returning to the Centre Room. Other members of the Royal Family followed shortly afterward.

The ceremony concluded without any further notable incidents.
