Meghan Trainor is entering her mom bob era, and the reveal turned into a surprisingly funny family moment. The Grammy-winning artist recently documented the moment she revealed a brand-new hairstyle to her husband, actor Daryl Sabara, and their children.
In an Instagram Reel shared on June 18, Trainor appeared both excited and nervous as she approached her husband. The 32-year-old singer could be seen adjusting her newly cut hair before stepping into the room and waiting for his response. Sabara didn’t need much time to process the change.
According to the clip, he immediately reacted with surprise before complimenting the new look. His response appeared to put Trainor at ease, and the pair shared a warm embrace moments later.
However, while her husband passed the test, not everyone in the household was quite as observant. In later clips, Trainor tried to get others to notice the makeover. In one amusing moment, she looked genuinely shocked when someone failed to spot the dramatic difference.
Laughing at the situation, she pointed out just how much hair had been removed. “Dude, it’s so different. I cut off a whole body,” she said in the video.
The “All About That Bass” hitmaker then brought her children into the reveal. Trainor and Sabara are parents to sons Riley and Barry, as well as baby daughter Mikey Moon. Curious about their reactions, she asked her children what looked different about her.
At first, Barry couldn’t identify the change. Only after a few hints did he realize that his mother’s hair looked different.
In the post’s caption, she credited Los Angeles-based celebrity hairstylist Anyssa Maciel for creating the fresh look. “I got a mom bob and only @darylsabara noticed bahaha thank you @stylebymaciel I love it so much!,” Trainor wrote.
Just days earlier, the mom of three had shared photos from Sabara’s 34th birthday celebration, still wearing her signature long blonde hair. That made the dramatic cut all the more unexpected for fans.
For Trainor, however, one vote of approval seemed to matter most. Judging by Sabara’s response, the new look already has a fan at home.
