Savannah Guthrie doesn’t want her mother discussed at work, claims source
Savannah Guthrie would reportedly want to focus on work and not discuss Nancy Guthrie’s case updates on the “Today” show. A source told RadarOnline that NBC has allegedly ordered guests not to bring up the topic on the daytime show. “The directive is crystal clear. No matter who the guest is, they’re told not to mention Nancy,” a production insider claimed.
According to them, Savannah and the production team would reportedly like viewers to “start their day” with a routine the show has built over the years. “They don’t want every segment overshadowed by a deeply personal family matter,” the source claimed.
Furthermore, another insider mentioned that the journalist would allegedly like to focus on the show rather than become “part of the broadcast.” However, they clarified that Savannah “appreciates” her well-wishers’ concerns, but the show would seemingly not be the right platform to express “sympathy.”
The broadcaster couldn’t stop herself from breaking down during the Tuesday episode. Her co-anchors covered an update on the case, claiming that a ransom note from February stated that Nancy was “dead.” To this, Savannah clarified that she was not included in the coverage, but she couldn’t hold back.
“So, since I am, I just want to take the opportunity to ask people to really to beg people to come forward – somebody knows something,” the grieving daughter said. She further informed viewers that her family is “in agony” since the incident.
